Default Reasons America is a great place to live.

1.The women are hot!
2.Shop assistants don't throw your change at you and act like you are putting them out.
3.You can get fast food at any hour of the day.
4.People like my accent
5.You never see anything about the Beckhams in the media
6.You can avoid all news of the Royals if you want to (who gives a f**K what Harry got in his exams?)
7.Petrol is cheap
...more later

2. HBO Channel

3. You don't have to listen too, "tony hows your hair-blair" rabbit on about nothing.

4. All you can eat KFC buffett

5. Actually sit outside in the sun and have a barbie, without it pissing down on you, and when one is a tad warm go inside and cool off under the AC.

You dont watch ESPN then or read the LA times or USA Today? Even they have jumped on the Beckham bandwagon over the last few months.

I'll add, the weather is great, or at least it is where I am and ESPN TV

1. There is always somewhere to park your car. Those days of cruising the streets hoping in vain for a spot to park on the streets of Windsor are long gone.

There's just too many serious reasons, so I'll stick to the alternatives...

1. Lots of commercial breaks to get snacks in your tv shows
2. Applebees boneless buffalo wings with blue cheese sauce (mmmm)
3. Proper pizza and bagels (only in NJ & NY I understand).
4. Always feeling thin when in indigenous company
5. Wondering whether every waitress fancies you as they're always so nice (is that just me ... probably)
6. Being in the geographical, physical, spiritual and financial centre of the world (or at least you'd think that watching tv)
7. $1.29 for gas
8. Knowing that your accent gives you chance with girls you wouldn't even have the confidence to talk to back home
9. Sport for freaks - basketball for those 8 feet tall, football for those at 300 pounds
10. Free refills (god, I miss that when I go home)

1. Getting to watch movies months before they're released in the UK.
2. Leaving outgoing mail in the letter box to be picked up and posted.
3. Fat Free Pringles.
4. Right on Red.
5. Free local phone calls.
6. Everyone back home is envious.
7. The Qdoba Tex-Mex food chain.
8. The majority of people are up beat and optimistic.
9. There is more space - houses, roads, you name it.

LMAO - so true. I tell people I live just outside NYC, and they're all so envious. I don't tell them that it costs $6 just to cross the bridges to get there, it smells horrendous, you get claustraphobic on the streets, everything is twice the price, and the people are the scariest drivers I've ever come across.

Just tell the where you live and let them turn green...

(that was the closest I could find to green)

I envy the people in the "real" USA. Driving through places like Virginia, Pennsylvania, Vermont is a real treat. I've not even got to the West coast yet, but I understand Oregon is spectacular, and Washington is great but wet!

The parents of the kids I coach here say that East coast parents who send their kids to college in California never see them again. Makes me wonder why everyone doesn't go there

I live in Oregon and can confirm that this place is absolutly stunning. From the breathtaking snowtopped mountains to the beautiful forrests and rivers. Travelling by car around this state is never a dull experience, in fact I love travelling for hours because of the scenery. I am looking forward to exploring more parts of America and indeed Canada.

Surely you're not suggesting that Tony is a socialist? New Labour looks pretty much like a bunch of old conservatives to me, except perhaps for Red Ken who may or may not be certifiable. I mean we have our privatised (is that really a word?) mail that doesn't arrive, our privatised trains which don't arrive (either because they never left or because they fell off the (separately) privatised track on the way, and apparently we are now talking about toll roads which was a Thatcher idea.

Glad I got that off my chest.:lecture:

True, but he is great fun. In't it refreshing to find a politician who speaks his mind and acts according to what he believes in (even if he is totally mad). Also, (as the results of the London election showed), he's probably the only person who could beat Blair in an election.

For those of you interested in Oregon and Washinton state scenery, I just happen to this pic of Mt. Adams.
