There's probably not much else you can do to get rid of them though, and it would be a laugh to see the look on their face
I must be lucky - I have not had one person come to my door to invite me to church, nor has anyone ever asked me if/where/why I do or don't go to a church either. I tend to keep to myself though, which might help
We used to get Jehova's Witnesses from time to time back in the UK though. My stupid sister took one of their mags once, they wouldn't leave us alone after that until I (politely) told then 'thanks but no thanks'.

Exactly - and it's unlikely to be one. Whenever you hear of a sex scandal in the US, you just know it will involve some right wing 'family values' Republican.

Isn't it just, Case in point I see Newt Gingrich has just thrown his name into the hat for Republican presidential candidate 2012

I frequently get people at the door inviting me to some church. I just tell them no thankyou and they leave. Never had a pushy one. The Kerby people are on another level though, with their fake room cleaning service that they use to get into your house so they can sell you a $1000 vacuum cleaner. Saved me vacuuming the stairs, even though it took 20 minutes to get rid of him. Never again.

In the past 2 weeks, we have had three different people from 3 different churches knocking on our doors asking us to come visit. And yet we have a 'No Solicitation' sign on the front entrance to our subdivision. I guess religious groups don't count as solicitors. Peeves me off no end. If I'm interested in 'finding God' I'll come find you, I don't need them bothering me by knocking on my door in the middle of dinner. That is one thing I won't miss once we move back to the UK. FWIW, I'm the born and bred USC, and I can't stand how the religion thing is thrown in our face all the time. I feel like we have to leave the US to get 'freedom from religion.'

Yes - they are everywhere (or it seems like that). They usually come here on Saturday mornings, although I haven't seen them all winter - no doubt when the snow goes and the weather warms up, they'll be back! They are always very polite and very well dressed. I tell them "I'm not interested" and they leave - sometimes they insist on leaving "The Watchtower" magazine - I put it straight into the recycling bin!!

And LDS on their missions, too.
My uncle, who is religious (member of the Christadelphians) once had JWs knock on his front door. He invited them in and 'conversed' with them about Christianity - they ran away and his house hasn't been visited since
I may be the lucky one - as I'm moving to Utah, I shouldn't be getting any knocks on the door from JWs or LDS on missions I may get next-door neighbors being 'neighborly' though, testing out to see if I'm Mormon
