thats one thing I never could figure out........why would you pay to have a private number plate.......I know many have them but just can't figure out why?

as they are called in the us - vanity plates.
i think it is pure vanity
in the Uk at least one reason was to disguise the age of your car....
i like having my nickname on the car - even if this makes me a twat
its just something else to make your vee-hic-le different from the others...
