Real work at home jobs?
Hello we are hopefully going to be in North Carolina in the summer. I have worked from home here in the UK, I would love to look into working from home in the USA. I have a sales background but have also done customer service rolls. Is there a real website where i can l ok into jobs in the States?
Thanks Kelly |

The first thing everyone is going to ask you, is what visa you're going to be on in the USA. It helps if you mention that right now, to avoid further questioning.
Rene No problem the spouse visa (immigrant visa) green card. |

Sorry, I don't know anything about working from home, though! Rene |

Re: Real work at home jobs?
I worked entirely from home for the last three years that I lived in the U.K. I came to the US in December on a spouse visa (IR-1). I thought I would like to work from home again. However, I decided that working in an office with colleagues around me who are people with a similar background would help me settle in and make friends here. I went from being the only person in the building (when I worked from home the whole house was empty except me) to working in an open-plan office with around 100 people. It was definitely the right thing to do. I'm learning a lot about how the industry I am in works in this country by listening to colleagues. We have round table once a week where we all exchange ideas and improvements. There are many social events organized for us and it would be very awkward to attend not knowing anyone. I was worried about working in an office again and I am a bit of a novelty at the office (I'm known as "the one with the nice accent") but I've made friends, shared recipes and shopping tips, and even found my car by joining in the office chit chat at work.

I suppose that is a very good point for meeting new people. Glad you found something you are happy with.

Re: Real work at home jobs?
What field are you currently in? there are a number of work-from-home job sites out there - but alot specialize in certain areas (tech/social media/marketing.etc .etc .etc).

This has just come my way...
looks like a good deal for working from home and Indeed is a great company. https://crowd.indeed.com/jobs in case you don't get the information page.. indeed will pay you for finding candidates for jobs either from their own database or from your own contacts on linkedin etc. |
