Hi-
From what I understand, the petitioner should write a letter to the
consulate in their fiance's country requesting an extension. You should also
send your fiance a most current, notarized "Bona Fide Intent to Marry",
basically a letter that states you both still love each and intend to marry
and are both legally able to marry, etc. sign, date it, get it notarized,
and send to your fiancee via express mail. Also send along some most current
paystubs that show you are still at your job of record.
It is my understanding that this is all that is required.

I am not a lawyer, this is not leagl advise- but when I thought my fiance and I might need an extension, this is what I was told to do by others in the newsgroup, and by the US State Dept. via my US Senator's office.
