Met online in random yahoo chat room Dec 2000
First met in person Aug 2001 at Gatwick airport!
To and fro a few times
Married in US Oct 2003

People just love hearing the story, so many people are terrified of internet relationships in case they meet a 78 year old, 600 pound rapist/murderer/confidence trickster ...... they just love our happy ending!

For those of you who met online, do you tell nosy people that you met online? I used to but now I say that I met him at college- it's just a lot easier
I tell people we met online... I have no shame even though some people seem to think I should

Meeting people on-line!?!?!?!?!?! What a crazy thought!

There are people at my local church who talk about people who meet on the internet as if they met in jail or in a brothel!

People still look at me like I still have an axe in the boot of my car, I mean I've been married nearly 4 years FFS.

we were told that roughly 70% of immigration cases were now internet related, so really we shouldnt be suprised at the amount of time they now take to process visas.
On the question of admitting you met your significant other online, if the media didnt give the inet and particularily chat rooms so much bad press it would be so much easier to just tell people.

Heh, I still do it after over five years. But then I keep going back to England and renting right-hand-drive cars, so I get messed up no matter which side of the car I'm driving on! LOL

I can go one better than that........

I walked up to the passenger side door of the car (left hand side) whilst me and the wifey were in England.
she about doubled up laughing at me.

Its when you get in the car, sit down, look around and try and figure out what you're doing there.
