I guess I should have added...
we met online in june 2000 then met in person in Dec 2000 (in the US) we met again in Dec 2001 (in the US) He came to visit me in the UK in Feb 2002 and he proposed in St, Pauls cathedral (we snuck in after hours he planned to propose on the London eye but was in awe at st pauls and decided that was the place) I moved over and we married in Nov 2002 Our first child was born Dec 2003 Ash :) |
He was on assignment in the UK for his US employer (in fact, he joined the US company for the opportunity to work in London). This was back in 98.
Soon after arriving he met me at work (I worked in the London office and had done so for a couple of years by then) and a relationship developed from there. To make it absolutely clear to anyone who has done or is considering applying for the I-130 through DCF at the US Embassy in London, my spouse had a UK work permit and no "Indefinite Leave to Remain" stamp at the time he applied for my I-130. He had already been resident in the UK for over 3 years at the time we began the I-130 process. You probably want a timeline too- First met in May or June 1998 Engaged Nov 2000 Married May 2001 Had I-130 interview and big brown packet, Sept 2001 Activated visa in March 2002 Moved to US May 2002 |

Ah yes online in Yahoo Chats UK Football room around 1998.
The atraction was a yank who knew more about football than me...doesnt get any more romantic than that :D Several trips back and forth across the pond, several thousands spent on phone bills (and I do mean thousands...remember BT's early international prices per minute?) and we settled down in her home state of Oregon. Married in 2001. |
