Question on getting married in the US.
Does a couple that consists of 1 Canadian Citizen and 1 USC/Canadian Permanent resident need anything in regards to getting married in the US and crossing the border?
Couple would not be living in the US, currently does not live in the US, and the USC has lived in Canada 10 years now.
Couple just doesn't know if they need anything (other then the license where the marriage is to take place and local stuff.) but as for crossing the border, is anything needed?
Thanks.

Nope, nothing is needed. My Sis & BiL married in Vegas although they are both British citizens and only stayed in the US long enough to get married.

I hear a few states have a residency requirement, of a few days, so you should check the state requirements for the state where you'll be getting married. Most states have no such requirements.
BTW Congratulations!

That said, it's not the norm.

Also, if either of the people getting married has been previously married and then divorced, you will find that different states have different requirements for "proving" that you are divorced. These requirements range all the way from "nothing" up to having to show specific documents.

Thanks all.
The state requirements have already been looked at, and they have no special requirements, just show up with money and ID. Proof of divorce is also not required, just the dates of when the divorce was finalized, so good there too.
I just wasn't sure on the federal level if there was anything needed.
