putting the sterling symbol on a US keyboard as a short cut?
Every time I want to use the £ symbol I have to jump through hoops to get it. Is there a way to make the symbol a short cut on my keyboard?
thanks |

how does that work with a laptop with no num pad? Can't see to get the num lock to function as it would with a full keyboard.

YEP good point, I am on a laptop and it won't work if I use the lap keyboard, I have a external keyboard attached to mine when I am home, as I find it easier to type with.

Google
If you mean this character: £ then press down and release the Num Lock key located in the upper left part of the number pad on the right side of your keyboard so that the LED above is lit and release that key. Then hold down the Alt key and type 156 using that number pad. Any luck!! :frown: It works on my word pad but not BE :frown: |

My low-tech way of doing it is simply to find a "£", (using Google if you need to) and then cut and paste it into your text. This should work for any unusual symbol, and no codes to remember!

I am having no luck with the num pad on my lap top either in Firefox or office 07. |

Here's a little Windows program that will sit in your system tray and produce a £ when alt 3 is pressed.
