proposed Date of travel!WHAT?

proposed Date of travel!WHAT?
Hi Just something that is bothering me??!! THIS is written on the form that comes with packet 3.....
IMPORTANT NOTE: Visa issuance is not guaranteed.
No assurance can be given in advance that a visa will be issued to you. Only after all your documents have been checked, your medical examination completed, and you have been interviewed by a U.S. consular officer, can a decision be made regarding your eligibility to receive a visa. You should NOT give up your job, sell your property, or make final travel arrangements.....
so why do they ask you for you proposed date of travel on the bottom of the form for when you send it back????
They also ask for the date of the wedding after telling you not to arrange anything??!!!
what do you have to put in those spaces.????
I mean I am still waiting for this to be approved so I certainly DO NOT want anything else to be able to go qwrong with it,, it looks like I am going to miss my daughters wedding anyway and Im sad about that ..
