Property Porn anyone?

New words in the Collins English Dictionary

I can't believe they included "bouncebackability".

Somehow, it just seems wrong that a name has been given for the act of filming hostages who are killed.
:(

My Collins dictionary was bought in the 1980's ... the new edition is probably twice the size!

I can see how chav made it in but can someone explain how 'tapping up' and 'exhibition killing' are words that need a definition in a dictionary?

Televised hostage killing really shouldn't be given a name and acknowledged in that way (well not IMO anyway), there are some things best left alone. Wouldn't be surprised if they have an entry for 'kiddy fiddling' too ... all very sad! :(

Guess I'm a bit behind the times because I had to download a program from UKNova to find out what Chav's were all about. :o

I think it's really the case that a dictionary reflects the language that is being used in society - blame the media for this one.

Are there any words or phrases anyone else would suggest to be included?

But 'tapping up' is two words? or did they put add tapping-up?

Can someone please tell me what a "chav" is???? I keep hearing that term lately...is it just a Brit thing. I don't get back too often, so I'm out of date on today's terminology! :)

I love the word Chav. It really is a much needed word to describe a class of people who we all know but could never really name. Now you say Chav, and everyone knows what you mean. Apparently there's been some criticism amongst liberal types, thinking that the term derides the working class. But as a self confessed Red, I think it's fair to say that the working class, by definition, have to work. Chavs don't, therefore I, nor any other Lefty, owes them any allegiance whatsover. Nuff said.

Splendid stuff, I never knew I was "retrosexual" though, learn summat new every day. Next time round can we get "procrasturbation" - the act of having a wank because you can't be bothered to do anything else, added?
