Proper chippy in Santa Barbara

Did I tell you I went to a proper British chippy in Santa Barbara while Mrs tonrob and I were on our hold last month?

The real deal and no mistake.

Lovely!

The self-deprecating style of the bio is so not American.

He's not really a French chef?

Yeah -- all French chefs spend their formative years in Blackpool.

I'm tempted to get in the car and go now. We could be there in an hour.

Do I need to take my own HP sauce?

Go, go! And then come back and post what you had. Pics too please.

My closest chippy's in NYC so I had to make do with a fish stick sandwich on sliced sourdough with rock salt, malt vinegar and organic ketchup after making my original post.

Not sure if they had HP but I expect they will. They seem like those sort of people.

Sounds good though.

Does it mean he's French, or a British bloke trained in the French style?

I'm actually allergic to fish, but could kill for a proper chip butty with scraps. Hubby is very excited though, think that will be a weekend visit. Mmm, mushy peas too.

I'll helpfully mention that the Santa Barbara Brewing Co is practically next door... :)
