Default Propane or Charcol barbeque?

I have become a bit of a barbeque expert since arriving here. We fire up the grill maybe 4 or 5 times a week. It was always a bit of a problem barbequing when you lived on the 2nd floor back in England. But when friends and family did grill, it was always the charcol style grills, where as over here in the US, the propane tank is king. We bought a fairly hefty gas grill a few months ago, and I wouldnt go back to charcol. Hows about you?

gas it is...too hot to sweat over the charcoal for hours on end...and probably a law against it here in VA. Need some sort of HOA approval I'm sure.

Have to say I am more impressed with the flavour of charcoal....gas just doesn't have the same rustic quality to it.

I agree on both points, my gas grill is great and have clocked up quite a few hours on it now, its so much easier to cook on.

Nothing beats the taste of a well used charcoal grill, but there a bugger to clean up!

This is the one I got 2 summers ago at home depot, they dropped the price on her now, it was $169 plus gas tank, now its only $139 BARGAIN.

...and may you have many a fine moment cooking on the little beauty too sir!

(I hope you've christened her by pouring some beer over the steaks, best way to cook 'em).

I'm a Weber convert - used Charcoal exclusively in the UK (weather permitting) - now couldn't imagine life without the ease of propane.
