$2.54 here in Florida.

Cost over $80 to fill my 36-gallon tank yesterday.

That should last about 3 weeks.

That is a great deal of money for a tankful of gas. Is there a reason why you need a vehicle requiring such a large tank? You're in the Panhandle and I know you don't use your vehicle as a work vehicle. In two months that is $240 just for gas. My retirement income couldn't afford that.

We have a fifth wheel RV which requires a big truck to haul it. I have a GMC Sierra 2500HD with a 6.0L gas engine. Average 12mpg solo. My daily commute is 12 miles each way. Gets about 7mpg when towing.

It's about 2.20 around Houston. https://www.gasbuddy.com/gasprices/texas/houston. 36 gallon tanks are awesome, looking to get an f150 with one.

I had to dig around for this thread! After 2 years working from home I am back to office. I filled up yesterday at local WAWA @4.06
Interestingly my debit transaction was cut off at $75.00. I thought it was a coincidence but in fact i did not get a full tank, 25 gallons would be $100 plus!
eta other options were up to 4.20 within 10 mile journey,

Ummmm, I hate to inject a little reality in here, but in Europe the situation is somewhat more serious..... Apart from the costs of natural gas and electricity going through the roof, standard unleaded petrol near me in the UK is now £1.60 per litre (approx US$1.92 or Can$2.53) and a shortage of Diesel has driven the price to a 15-20p per litre premium over unleaded. So, unleaded equates to just over US$6 per US gallon......

Not sure where, but I think your maths is off. ..... £1.60 per litre is £6.05/USgal which at £1=US$1.23 is equivalent to US$7.44/USgal.

In more normal times when £1=US$1.60, (typical over the past 40 years), that would have been US$9.68/USgal!

I bought basic unleaded gas yesterday evening for $3.89/USgal, including a 20¢/gal discount offered by a tie-up between BP and a large US supermarket chain. Last week I paid $4.19 for high octane gas for my BMW at a gas station operated by a "club store" similar to Costco - the typical price in my area would be 40¢-60¢/gal more than that.

That is what Biden needs. US gas prices are half of what the rest of the world pays (EU/UK). Stay tuned,

eta I did not expect a limit on my spend, perhaps naively. I also did not expect to want more gas than was available to me. I suppose I can go back for more but it is not a given anymore.

Pump limits have been around for years. RV'ers run into it regularly with 100-200 gallon tanks. Usually, you can just re-swipe and get another $75 worth.

My truck is over $100 for a tank now (36-gallon tank).

But you may find you can only reswipe once on any one day - I discovered several years ago with my BP Visa card that if I bought high octane gas for my mower and then regular unleaded for my truck, I could not then go back on the same day and buy gas for my wife's car. It didn't matter about the gas station, it was that the bank operating the BP visa card only allowed two purchases of gas on any one calendar day, period.

The only thing Biden needs is a nap.

The only reason for the difference is taxes, the underlying price of the gasoline is virtually identical. So the price difference between the US and Europe could be eliminated overnight, literally, but there is zero chance of any mainstream American politician suggesting adding $3 of taxes to a gallon of gas.

Since when did facts get in the way of a good spin?
