Re: Price of gas update...
Price is up to $1.74 today (from a low of $1.29) and traffic seems to be almost back to pre-covid levels. Only difference I'm seeing now is because the schools are still closed.

And yet ours sat for weeks at $1.859 and just this week several stations have dropped a penny to $1.849.

Re: Price of gas update...
I paid about $1.38 last weekend, including a 50¢ credit from Kroger, and managed to get 34.4 gallons at that price, out of a maxium of 35, with an fairly low truck tank and using two 5gal cas cans, but that was the first gas I have put in my truck since March and don't expect to need to put more in until the end of July. And the 10 gallons that went into Mrs P's Accord should last into July too.

It seems we're all using out cars again - unleaded 95 has risen from a low of 99.9p a litre (yes i know.... call it £1 and be done with it) to £1.049 today, rising by 1p every couple of weeks or so. For those of you on the other side of the water, that's a rise of 25c per US gallon in 6 weeks..... now making unleaded ~$5 a gallon.

That's a price that is flattered by the collpase of sterling in 2016. At the average over the past 40 years of around US$1.60=£1, that would be arond $6.35!

So that's $1.57. A couple of weeks ago I got a 70c/gal discount from a long-running joint promotion between BP and our favourite supermarket. The discount varies depending on what we spend on groceries, but this time I ended up paying 35.7c/litre ($1.35/gal US) for 132 litres (35 gallons).

Re: Price of gas update...
Gas went back up here in Vancouver, the under $1/liter was nice though for 2 months....It was 1.31 per liter today, up about 0.42 cents per liter since the low point in April.
Demand is back, people driving, rush hour back to normal, but I imagine demand is still down due to lack of tourism this summer, which is probably why we are not in the 1.50/liter range.

It exists in the UK, up to 10p a litre discount on a purchase of £50 in-store, etc. Not all the time, but sometimes.
Problem is, I usually don't want £50 worth of the garbage they sell............and/or can get better or cheaper elsewhere (the groceries, not the petrol).
In Portugal, supermarkets often have a tie-in with certain petrol companies - every purchase in Pingo Doce counts as a discount against fuel bought at BP station, etc. - if you buy above a certain quantity of fuel in one purchase.
