Re: Price of gas update...
Prices are all over the place at the moment, mostly in the range $2.03- $2.20, with areas that were the cheapest now higher than other areas. The area that has been cheapest for most of the past 10-12 years is now cheapest again, but price volatility means it is hard to be sure if this is a short-term quirk or something that might last for several weeks or months, or longer. History suggests that the long term pattern of that area being the cheapest has returned.
As always I plan ahead and buy from the cheapest BP that is on my weekly travels. IMO it is extremely rarely worth driving even a mile or two out of your way to save a few cents per gallon on gas.

Most places seem to have stablised around here for a range of $2.19-2.35G at the same kind of disparity that they usually were. All the cheap places and bulk places are back to being with a few pennies of each other at the bottom end of the scale.

I paid $2.019 this morning (actually I paid $1.499 with my BP loyalty discount ), and there are now a couple below $2 again, one an Exxon, so not even a discount brand.

Cheapest we could find in Tahoe was $3.19
It's $2.99 at the Chevron down the road - admittedly not the cheapest in the area, but it's the one I pass most often. Flipping Bay Area prices.
