Where can you buy non ethanol? I thought it was banned in most States now?

Some stations sell it here in NC, but like the price that Boiler posted, it is insanely expensive, ..... unless you are looking from the perspective of a UK resident.

I presume that owners of historic vehicle use it. I have also heard that some people prefer it for their mowers and yard tools. ..... In fact Lowes sells in quart-sized tins, on a shelf in the yard equipment area, at a price per gallon that would make even a resident of the UK wince.

Some stations in Washington state have non-ethanol gas, the prices never seem to cost more at those stations either, but I am not buying gas on a regular basis down there, but the times I have, the prices were on par with the other stations.


In BC it's more difficult, only Shell and Esso and Chevron sell non-ethanol gas and only in their premium blend, so you have to pay more but they don't charge more for their non-ethanol premium, same price as the stations selling premium with ethanol.


I don't care about ethanol or non ethanol, I always buy regular as it's the cheapest.

But some people refuse to buy the ethanol blends and go out of their way to stations that have non ethanol options.

In WA most of the places without ethanol are non-branded stations.

On the road trip, it was $2.99G along Lake Superior in Michigan.

$2.09-2.19 in Cleveland, OH

$2.55 in Chicago

$2.35 along PA

$2.65G through NY

$2.45-50G through the Dakotas.

$1.15L along Ontario from Toronto to Niagara area, which with the exchange rate, $50CAD was about $38US to fill an empty tank, which I didn't think was bad.

Most in chains that I'm not that familiar with. It was about a buck more expensive though.

1.15L is not a bad price even in CAD$ compared to what we pay parts of BC...lol

Our Mazda 2 from empty costs a little over 40 CAD$ generally. Running 1.29 liter here today CAD$ for regular.

Bellingham,WA is running 2.75 to 3 per gallon currently.

Local BP was $1.92 this morning but saw $1.90 at Sonoco.

I paid $2.099 for BP yesterday in the next town over.

Gas did a nose dive in the last 7 days. We bought it last Monday at 1.29 CAD per liter and yesterday down to 1.15 CAD per liter. Biggest drop in months.

Approx 3.28 USD per US Gallon.


Update: I was out this morning early, and the stations have gone up overnight to 1.16/liter.
