3.08 here in north MS today.
At the end of April it reached 3.87, then by mid May it had dropped to 3:55, then 3:35 by the end of May and over the last month it's slowly come down to $3.08

We were on vacation in mid May so I had been watching the prices in the weeks leading up to our trip. If you have a smartphone then you should get the GasBuddy app, especially if you travel a lot. It was very helpful in planning where we would stop on our long road trip to Florida last time.

They also have a neat little map here that gives you an idea of prices across the country.

The GasBuddy app is fantastic. We use it all the time. Saved us loads. There was a gas station near us that had gas at $3.11 but looking at the app we saw if we went down the road a little more we'd get it for $3.04

If you use the version in a web browser it can plot a route for you and tell you where to fill up along the way.

So after quite a while with no changes in cost, yesterday, the cheapest place went up by 2c to $3.27 whilst the next cheapest went down 4c to $3.25 and everyone else is around $3.43-3.60 still.

Here just outside of NYC it is still high ... $3.73 a gallon for regular.

However, my brand new car is a gas saver. I'm averaging 36-42 on the highway and 24-30 city driving. Lots better than the 24 mpg I got on the 2005 vehicle.

Now at $3.40 here. I think the new gas pumps installed at the local Costco are helping bring it down.
