(actually, I tried it once... runs like crap).

What we need is a good additive... Lead maybe.
Need to run it a few tank fills to it to sort itself out and not be quite so rough.

Do lose a bit of high end kick, but unless you're really flooring it, or doing all motorway driving, it really doesn't make that much difference to the mileage.

Blimey, at that rate of petrol, the tank must be tiny...I'd weep if I had to fill up our tank at your rate and I didn't think it was that large, about $60-65 a tank from fumes.

Problem with the Dodge, the Hemi is shit and a petrol sponge. 2500 runs really hard too.

FIL's Silverado was getting 25mph, not on the motorway but he was doing 120 miles one way to work.

He doesn't care right now so much though as he now drives a works truck and gets petrol paid for, it's farmers stuff tax free.

Bob, I sincerely hope you meant mpg up there. I shudder to think what 25mph on the motorway would be like

I think the only time my poor old escort saw 80 it was on the back of an AA truck. . We did have some fun though, racing my buddy in his triumph herald.

Those were the days.

Maybe I'm thinking of the (wait for it) 1.3 L he got in '85 for his second company car. I know I saw 80+ in that because I was starting to get old enough to sit in the passenger seat.

Great days indeed, though. You can imagine our excitement when his 3rd company Escort was an LX

Living the dream!

One of my friends had a blue and white escort "mexico" . It had flared arches AND driving lights. Somehow it seems less impressive than it did then.

Mk1 or Mk2? I'd still have a Mk1 Mexico, great wee cars, those, much less gaudy than the RS2000, IMO.

Down to $3.31G down our way at BJ's, everywhere else seem to be between $3.45-3.57 in the area.

I remember when my uncle bought a year old used '82 Cortina estate. A 1.6 L which had the distinction of having a locking petrol cap over the non L model When you think of all the extras as standard now, it seems so archaic.
