I read recently that in CT we pay 63.6 cents per gallon in taxes (third highest in the US), and that Gov. Malloy's proposed budget wants to increase that to 66.6 cents per gallon, which will make CT's gasoline taxes the highest in the US.

I filled up at $4.39 per gallon today, which was an improvement from my last visit to the pumps.

The gas tax in Connecticut is $0.25 per gallon plus federal gas tax of $0.18 per gallon plus a 5% sales tax so that should be about a total of $0.64 per gallon.
