Oakland Park, Lauderdale Lakes FL
Just paid $2.70 regular.
Oil @ $62 a barrel, regular gas should be $2.25.
Guess we have to help Exxon & the others make some profit, poor buggers, have had a bad time this last 12 months.

Before things started going up a couple of years ago, NJ had one of the lowest prices in the country (as far as I know). Since it went up that's no longer the case as it doesn't seem to come down as quickly or as far as it should.

I paid $2.53 this morning.

Can you pump it yourself, or do they still have gas pump attendants there?
I was just filling up yesterday and they have taken the little thingy off the handle so you have to stand there in the cold squeezing the handle. Just in time for winter

We lived in Downtown Manhattan for many years, so bought half or more of our gas in NJ. Was not that many years ago, reg was 89c per gal, use to fill my V8 Explorer, for less then $20.
WOW! "Those were the days, my friend We thought they'd never end"

I think its a NJ law, can't pump your own gas. Never seen a NJ Gas station, where, it was not full service.
Jersey, will let us know if thats still the case.

It is NJ law. I'm not complaining - I hate it when I travel now and have to do it myself.

Actually a few years ago I had a rental car in Vegas and I was trying to fill up and I could not work out how to get the thing started - there was some handle you had to flip up (or down, can't remember) on the actual pump. My wife, who was in the car, thought it was very funny that I didn't know how to fill up.

Yep, bit like those Credit card swipe machines in stores, why the hell they can't all use the same system.

I want to know why my debit card will swipe in some machines and not others. Some of them have to swip it bottom to top, or put a plastic bag on it etc and some places can whip it through like green corn goes through the new maid.

At the local grocery store gas station, we just paid $2.46 yesterday (it was $2.56 before the $.10 discount). I can't remember the last time it was that cheap! I half joked with the OH that we needed to get a 55gal drum and fill it up.

So why hasn't the price gone down here in this backward ass state then?
