I'm in Germany this week. Calculated on todays exchange rate, still comes to about $6.60 per US gallon.

Prices went down in Spain last week, equivalent of about $5.75 per gallon.

Gasoline prices are spiking in these states

Gasoline prices across the Midwest spiked an average of 20 cents or more per gallon overnight, after the outage at BP (BP.-GB)'s Whiting refinery in Indiana sent prices in the wholesale spot market skyrocketing this week. More of that price shock should filter through to gas stations in states from Ohio and Kentucky to Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan.

Prices are expected to temporarily rise 75 cents to $1 from week-ago levels in Chicago alone, according to Tom Kloza of the Oil Price Information Service. Chicago drivers were paying an average of $3.01 per gallon for unleaded gasoline Thursday morning, compared to the average $2.81 per gallon Wednesday and $2.72 a week ago, according to AAA.

The media here is saying our gas will spike because of this as well, but so far the prices are steady, but they tend to do it in the middle of the night to surprise the commuters in the morning.

Prices in LA are dropping

Diesel has remained steady.

Two weeks ago I mentioned to my other half, "The AC in the BMW needs service" and she says its working just fine and why spend the money. Today it is 100 in the shade and she had me call Joseph -- he mentioned that his shop had five cars in today for AC service, is tomorrow OK?

I paid $2.249 for BP last Sunday in the next town over, by Tuesday it was $2.229. Tonight it is down to $2.199.

As it has been for the past year, you're paying exactly 20c less than my favorite (cheapest) BP.

Yep. It went up 70c on Tuesday afternoon. Thankfully, it happened after I filled my tank (at $2.67, by 5:00 it was up to $3.39 at the same station) and it looks to be only temporary.

They give me a feel good factor. I just hope for the day I can pump my own gas again and not have to go down the side of my car on a regular basis.

I hate places that don't let you pump gas, nothing but a job creation scheme in view.

For the most part we are allowed to pump it here, although a couple of city's in an effort to create jobs (the reasoning they use) force you to have the attendant pump, royal pain really since if paying by credit or debit you have to still get out, and put the car into the machine and all that.

It was 1.29 Canadian for regular today, 1.44 Canadian for premium per liter.
