The Power of One
In the Spring they repaved a 15 mile road which runs down the side of the Cape Fear river from Wilmington all the way down the island where I live. The road is only 2 lanes (one in either direction) but is a pretty drive. After they finished it some Bozo decided it need chain link fences on some of the bends hence making a very pretty road an eyesore.
Since they finished putting up the fences locals, the newspaper, local tv, uncle tom cobley and all have petitioned to try and get these fences removed but the DOT kept saying that they where for safety.
Last weekend some poor guy took one of these bends too fast (there are no yellow reduce speed at bend signs on this road) and hit the fence, one of the metal poles shot out of the ground and embedded itself in the driver (he is OK).
On Monday it was announced the driveris sueing the DOT because if the fences had not of been there they would have been OK (or better than they are). The lawyer has said the fences are unnecessary and does not enhance safety on that road (obviously).
Well after 7 months of everyone making a fuss and nothing happening they fences where removed today (before this goes to court) thanks to this one guy
The moral of story is never underestimate the power of one person, especially if they have a metal pole stuck in them and a lawyer.

Are you trying to say that it would only take for one Eastenders fan to poke him- or herself with a metal pole, and EE would be back on BBCA?
