Re: Post, did yours get there.
I posted about 24 cards to the UK to friends and old neighbours. The only one that didnt make it was a special one for my 8yr old nephew who thought his aunt didnt love him anymore as his name was not on the family card.
Postal service.....huh!!!

we sent packages on around the 4th Dec via airmail... they arrived yesterday.... really not impressed as it cost us a LOT to post them on the 5 day delivery and they did get to the UK in 4 days... the rest was royal mail ****ups and delays.

I never have problems sending letter or parcels, I am very impressed by both ends...except when I post to my in laws in Southsea. I think its their postman. A few months ago he tried to deliver a parcel to my MIL who was out, so he took it away again and didnt tell her he had tried. She ended up calling the post office for weeks each time being told they didnt know anything about it. A month later the parcel turned up on her door step without any warning, when she looked at the box their was a note from the postal service saying they had tried to deliver it on the 4th of May, didnt get an answer so intended trying to redeliver on the 4th of June!!!! What about the other 4 weeks!

Re: Post, did yours get there.
I mentioned this in another thread but I was really impressed with USPS this Christmas.
Dec 13th - Posted 2 parcels at the local USPS in NJ, USA
Dec 15th - First parcel arrived in Stockport, UK
Dec 16th - Second parcel arrived in Stockport, UK
I am still waiting to receive a birthday card from my brother which he posted in London in October 2004.
We recently received a letter from the National Insurance office in Newcastle which had a Malmo, Finland postmark on it. 2 days later we got a letter from Standard Life in England which had a Swiss postmark on it.

Re: Post, did yours get there.
I sent 3 packages to England & 1 to Australia, I sent 2 (1 UK & 1 Oz) on December 12th & the other 2 on December 14th. I paid extra for them to be sent so they would get there within 8-10 days. The one to Australia arrived on the 22nd, one arrived on January 3rd & the other 2 haven't turned up yet.
I'm pretty p*ssed off because I paid extra & they should have got there in time. I'm pretty sure it's Royal Mail that is the problem, due to the Australian one getting there on time. Also, when the Postie came to deliver the parcel, my Mum mentioned that she was worried it was lost & he told her it had been sat at the sorting office for quite some time as they had no one available to deliver it.
What added further to my annoyance, was that I had enclosed my brother's Christmas present (he spent Christmas with my Mum, he normally lives in Aussie), but he had flown back to Aussie the day before. So now my Mum has to spend money sending it on to him there!
Oh I almost forgot, one of the packages was to my best friend, who has a newborn baby. I scoured the shops for weeks trying to find Baby's 1st Christmas outfits that were suitable for a boy (all I could find were girlie looking ones!). I managed to find 4, all of which are completely useless now as Christmas has come & gone & the package still hasn't arrived. What a waste.
Sorry for the vent, but I had to get it out!
