Possible scam

Got an E mail about a Pay Pal account that I supposedly have that has been compromised. I've never used Paypal as I don't buy over the internet. If anyone else has had a similar message just be wary.

There's loads of those phishing ones on paypal now...some arent' half bad looking fakes too...but the big give away is the re-directs in the URL...there's been a few ebay one's as well which are pretty good....

eBay have an email address to forward any fake emails to, its [email protected]
Leave the subject line and don't add any text to the mail and hopefully it will help them to catch those responsible.

I probably get 20 of these a week now. The big give away is actually that they're asking for your account information. They don't all need redirects - some of them just use a URL that the bank / Paypal never bothered to register.

I get them all the time, from Barclays (which I've never used), Lloyds TSB, Paypal, eBay & loads of others too. I never reply or do anything with them, common sense is the way to go with most of those. For example, a bank would usually never send you an email, the exception to that rule would be that if they did, they would just ask you to call a number or pop into your branch, never re-direct you to another site to input your info.

You can always right click on the link they provide & select properties to see the real URL they are sending you to, it's a dead giveaway! It's a shame that people actually fall for them.
