Is it possible...
For an Illegal Alien to get married to a US citizen and then become one himself? Or is that a no-no?

Define "illegal"
Did the alien enter the US on a visa or visa waiver, or did they sneak
across the border?
If they entered on a visa or visa waiver, they may be able to adjust
status and become a permanent resident.
After being a permanent resident and married to a US citizen for 3
years, they can file for citizenship.
If they entered by sneaking across the border, they are out of luck,
unless Congress passes new legistlation similar to the LIFE Act.

I must say, I've never heard of a US citizen becoming a Illegal Alien by
getting married to one.
