Police recruiting

I hope this is alright to post here as there has been some discussions about non citizens obtaining a job as a police officer, by those looking to become a police officer.

The City of Milwaukie is recruiting, if you are able to obtain US citizenship per OAR 259-008-0010 you may apply.

How interesting that the example you provide requires US citizenship despite your previous assertion that citizenship is not a necessary requirement!

It allows the person to be employed as a non-citizen for 18 months. I thought it might be an opportunity for someone who will qualify in that time for citizenship to apply. Comes under the heading of trying to be helpful, but feel free to post pointless sarcastic remarks, and I never have asserted that Oregon takes non-citizens. In fact up until we released this vacancy I wasn't even aware there was a time frame you could be a non-citizen police officer in Oregon.

And yet you used your experiance in Oregon ('ive interviewed for more police jobs than you have') to call my statement 'utter bollocks' when in fact your own experiance supports it?

Well this could turn interesting....how about we leave this thread as intended, as just a bit of info and help for others and leave the tit for tat at the door, or in PM?

You said no one without a degree could get a job as a police officer. Go look at our job listing. A lot of Oregon police departments will take you without a degree. So yes your comment was and still is utter bollocks.

Philadelphia, PA does not require a college degree but you do have to live in the city to be an officer.

Utica, NY is currently hiring. You also need to reside in the city.
