We would need a truck and a trailer to fit all our stuff in. That leaves 2 cars and a horse trailer.
I wish it was legal/safe to tow a car on the back of a trailer on the back of a truck, but I think I may get in trouble, LOL.
I figured I'd drive the truck and trailer combo, whilst Sue took her car with 3 cats and 2 dogs - yeah I get the easy trip.
I would then fly back and collect my car, the horse trailer and the two horses
It means driving to the same place twice, but its not a huge problem.

Don't know your car's towing capability, you might consider towing the horses with the UHAUL (as it would be heavyer), then returning for the car and the UHAUL trailer. O'course if your 'car' is an F-350 or something it won't matter.

For us to go back to AL using pods, it came out at nearly $3200 (2 pods). For the (26', 1500 cu ft) UHAUL truck, only $908.

It is legal, as far as I know. I've certainly seen people driving a U-Haul truck and towing a trailer with a car strapped to it.

A truck, towing a trailer, towing a car. Thats 3 units.
It would be a bitch to stop a fully loaded 26ft truck, towing a fully loaded 12 ft trailer, towing a 2 ton Jeep . . .
