If you think you do not appear to be the norm ( whatever you think it is ) for a married couple, get the younger among you adapt a lifestyle that ages you very fast: Stop shaving (valid for both, especially great for the woman), eschew haircut and shampoo, daily lack of sleep, a diet of potato chips, nachos, cheese and beer, lots of time in front of television on a soft sofa etc.... By the time INS gets to see the two of you, the younger one would start to look older among the two. You'd be asked to provide new ADIT photos, but what the hell ! |

My husband and I married earlier this year and I filed to adjust status and was approved after my marriage interview in October. We have a 25 yr age difference and though this may raise a few eyebrows with the INS - plus I had overstay prior to my filing and had entered the US under the VWP... and ... I had spent 6 1/2 months of the time whilst my petition was pending outside of the US back in the UK seperated from my husband ( fighting in court with my ex..lol).
Regardless our marriage is very real and the INS didn't grill us as they thought we might - they were pleasant and helpful. Basically if your relationship is real, you are organised and can give them reasonable explanations and the documents they require ( I took a lot of things they didn't ask for in the end but it helped me to know we had it we had needed it), there's no reason to worry. Be prepared and be yourselves :) |
