Please suggest,

My friend who is green card holder, wants to start his consultancy firm and wants to hire me as his first consultant. I have two engineering masters (one of the MS is from US accredited university)

I was on H1B, got laid off applied for F1 and after getting WAC number presently waiting on change of status request to INS.

Is it possible for him to hire me at this stage?

Yes, as long as he is willing to sponsor you for an H-1B.
