You missed out the "leg pulling"! :) ..... Unfortunately, reduced to a few words in a forum, posts here on BE lose all the context and nuances of tone of voice and facial expression. :(

So, why NYC?
LinkedIn advice is the best one given though, of joining groups and getting involved, which gets one noticed and people to connect too and getting recommendations from those in the industry and on the ground in the area. Though focusing on a recruiter in a specific location is a bit of a waste, a good one will have contacts all over...and unless you're really senior, they're mostly as much use as a pin pricked hat...pucking useless as they just scatter gun approach people, putting companies off so that they don't have to pay a fee if you contact them by other means. For needing a visa, you'll want to contact companies you are interested in directly by founding the hiring managers and getting in touch with them directly, which you can do by using LinkedIn. |
Re: Please Help - Marketing and Adverting Headhunters NYC??
Recruiters are in the business of fulfilling the company's need for staff so they can get their fee.
They have no particular interest in you getting the position. Just that someone from their books gets the position. Another vote for LinkedIn. Also, I hope you're under 50 years old. And on top of digital marketing initiatives. |

This thread is a disgrace, rather than just answer the OPs question as best as possible with the information provided. OP gets a bunch of rude bickering posts.
I wonder what Internet Brands thinks about this, the idea of a forum is to foster a community, not have a bunch of 'regulars' scare new members away. It certainly feels like the "old boys/girls" club here at times. I realize this is off-topic, but it had to be said. I'll go find my fire retardent suit now. |
