In a disturbing way, the whole state dinner sorta reminded me of the dinner scene in Borat... with the exception that Borat was intentionally exaggerating and taking the piss. The offer gaffe was that LB failed to curtsy. I would love to see HM diary entry with regards to her trip... something tells me it would be the tone of an Adrian Mole entry. I hope that noone starts that certain stupid email thingy again.... however, there is merit credibility to it now!

Yup, but the whole thing "plays well in Peoria". Anytime a US president treats the Queen like just another person (wink, nudge, silly statement) it goes down very well in the hinterlands. One of Reagan's aides is still regarded with some admiration in some parts for just saying 'Hi Queen' when introduced.

LB dosen't have to curtsy, only british subjects are meant to.
