I attended a meetup and not only was I welcomed, I got to repay the favour by driving a blind-drunk younger expat home and getting him safely inside his flat. Saved him from certain arrest at one point when he declared to a convenience store clerk that he wanted to eat ice cream off my naked body.

I had to explain to him that American clerks were likely to react with alarm and yell for security when confronted by a mad drunk, unlike British clerks who'd probably just piss themselves laughing and shove him out the door.

Explanation failed, so had to drag him. Lucky for him I outweighed him
