the sights, look around, things to do,
unique shopping places,
um i'm 22 male traveling on my own,

i'm traveling from toronto, last time I went to US I didn't have plan and it caused a lot problems, and I wasted over half day while they checked me out at the Border control they let me in though, luckily I was going over night and could get the next bus, but this aint option this time,
so I need to make plan of what I am doing in the day just in case, even if I change when I get to Philly,

Go to Gino's or Pat's or the other one which I can't remember.

Go to the Italian market.

There are lots of things to do in Philly.

Do not wait in line for hours outside one of the Philly Steak places...it's not worth it. IMO the food was only marginally better than in a mall food court.

See the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall

The "Rocky steps" are at the Art Museum which is well worth a visit. It may not be as big as say the Met in NYC but the collection is very good indeed. The UPenn Archaeology Museum is well worth a look too.

Liberty Bell, Independence Hall. The open top bus tours are good. The art Museum, have your photo taken by the statue of Rocky!

The Philly Phlash buses are great when you want to do some sightseeing. http://www.visitphilly.com/tours/philadelphia/phlash/

Reading Market is good if you're a foodie http://www.readingterminalmarket.org/

South Street is the cool, artsy area for shops, cafes etc

To be honest, Philadelphia didn't impress me all that much. However, the must do's are The Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Give yourself some time to see Independence Hall as it's really quite interesting and make sure to go on one of the guided tours, as some of the tour guides really know their stuff and can be entertaining.

Skip the philly cheese steak if there's too big of a wait and head on over to Bobby Flay's burger Palace on Walnut Street. You only pay a little more than at most fast food joints but you get an amazing burger with a high end ambiencel. If you want a more formal sit down type meal then there's a great Cuban place called Cuba Libre, does a great brunch and fantastic Mojitos.

Be careful where you go, downtown area is generally pretty safe but there are lots of rough areas and things can turn ugly fast if you don't watch where you're going. Just stick to the touristy spots and you'll be fine. And don't even think of visiting Camden!
