I filled up for £50.37 yesterday at 87.9 at Tescos .. Esso is at 90.9 atm. I drive a 2L and without any out of the ordinary journey's that will last me the best part of a month for the work commute, shopping etc.

We have seen a recent rise too, for the last couple of months its been a few pence down on that.

When we were in Blighty a few weeks back we rented a Puegeot 407 turbo diesel from avis, it averaged 50 mpg and according to our visa bill cost us $175 to fill the tank ........ I noticed diesel ranged from .90 a litre to .98 a litre.

Think of a very fast elevator ... then you have a good understanding of petrol/gas prices.

I was astounded to find out that many people spend thousands and thousands of dollars visiting and revisiting colleges. Flying all over the country, can you imagine the expense. There was a college recruitment advisor on TV this morning, saying that kids as young as 6th grade go to her for 'grooming' for the college admissions process.

One of my daughter's friends parents decided when she was about 10 yrs old what uni. they wanted her to go to, in fact they even knew what dorm room they wanted her to have. She was then channelled to take the right classes, play the right musical instruments and take up the right sports. She was offered a place at the university of choice before all her classes mates had even applied. I forgot to mention is was an Ivy not too far away and she did get that dorm room.

Yep its SAD. Just sent another $50, to a UNI to hold a Dorm room, incase he decides to go there. INCASE> F----n Crooks, no other word for it. Legalised mugging, why does the Gov allow this stuff. No wonder these Uni's have Billions not millions, bloody Billions in cash.

Its to pay for the 60% or so that are on scholarships, usually athletic ones at that. Just wait until they start calling you asking for donations.

I was amazed when my daughter started school here and the school would call asking for donations. They had a list of all students posted in the hall showing whether they had donated or not. How about that for pressure.
My daughters school friend in the UK took a letter home asking for a 10 pound donation her parents where furious. Here they were asking for a 4 figure sum.

My son goes to private high school, non stop letters for donations $25 each raffle tickets. Letters asking for the names & phone #'s of Grand Parents, for more donations. Parent Gala's, Casino nights. I'm drained.
