Pet carriers

Hi I know there is loads of companies that will transport your pets but there are so many not sure where to start. Could anyone recommend one or tell me any to stay away from.

Regards
Jo

Might help if you mentioned from/to...Also when, because some airlines won't ship pets during certain times of the year to certain locations etc.

Well they were off to Turin in 2006 by the looks of it but judging by later posts they are moving from the UK to Vegas in September.

For our cat we used Pet Air who aren't the cheapest but were very good indeed. You should start getting quotes soon as there's a TSA security regulation for pet shipping which means you have to have begun a business relationship with your shipper at least 30 days before the pet flies, and asking for quotes satisfies this requirement.

I've just received a quote from PBS for one of my pets:

www.shipyourpet.com

I would recommend having a "shop around" though.

Another recommendation for Petair, they weren't quite the cheapest quote I got but they were very helpful and was impressed with their service.

Another recommendation for PetAir - all went very well and I think in these cases you do get what you pay for.

And just to tip you over - we had Pet Air and they were absolutely brilliant with our 3 pooches. Our 3 were in unbelievably good shape when we arrived in Phoenix (on same flight) and British Airways had a hand in that too...

Some airports (like Phoenix) won't accept live cargo during the hot season - check if your destination airport has something like that, or some other restriction, such as it has to be a full moon and be the 6th tuesday of the month... ;)

Good luck!

We used Pet Exports UK and they were very good. Their website looks stupid but the service was excellent and I'd use them again without reservation.

We used PBS to get us tickets with BA into Boston and they were really great.
