Payroll from the US
Hi,
I will probably be taking an assignment in the UK next year, as my employer is US based they want to deposit my pay in to a US bank account, any recommendations on the cheapest / most convenient way to have access to the money in the UK (credit cards / debit cards / checkbooks / cash points / etc)?

Anyone.
Really depends on where you're based and who you use in the US, BoA are linked to Barclays for instance and that'll make sense if you're BoA, otherwise it won't matter.

Has your employer worked out how to deal with FICA vs National Insurance and
taxation?

Re: Payroll from the US
Status being finalized, I have both US and UK nationality so that is not a concern but I agree SS / NI / etc, still need to be sorted out.
Have not had good experiences with HSBC, used to bank with them in the UK and they messed me around with an Expat account...
Currently I bank with (JP Morgan) Chase....

Re: Payroll from the US
I see the concern, however I currently work part time in Canada and the US and my employer handles the various withholding / taxes with little difficulty so I am assuming that they will not have issues with this (they are a very large international company).... As I plan to be in the UK for less than 183 days and will not establish domicile I assume income tax will not be an issue, do you know where I can get info on National Insurance requirements?
