I can't believe it, but I actually read this entire thread -- I usually bow out after 6-7 pages -- and laughed the entire time!! It WAS amusing!
Just in case Patrick II is wondering, I don't think there is a "Self-Esteem for Dummies" -- but there IS a "Complete Idiot's Guide to Enhancing Self-Esteem" available on Amazon.com:

Hmmm... Only got three out of five stars, though. Half the feedback scores were five stars, and the other half were for only one star. My favorite reader feedback was...
