I just renewed my passport from the US. I got a DHL notification that it is due for delivery tomorrow and requires a signature.

As they send the old passport back separately, when can I expect the second delivery (and does that also require a signature)?

I'm going to have to take a day off to receive it and don't want to take another day off for the second delivery.

DHL give an option to change the day but no other options such as alternate address or time window.

My old passport arrived on the same day as my new one. DHL sent me tracking information for both packages so it'd be possible to reschedule if one is due to arrive after the other.

I've rescheduled delivery for Friday but so far I only have one tracking number.

I received the second tracking number yesterday. Due for delivery today.

I managed to wangle a work-from-home day today. Both packages arrived at lunchtime.

I sent the old passport using USPS with tracking. Took 9 days to get there.

17 days start to finish including weekends and a bank holiday.

Application approved 8:26am on 4 June 2018
Joined processing queue 4:38pm on 31 May 2018
Old passport received 10:19am on 31 May 2018
Application received 1:44pm on 22 May 2018

Disenchanted

I found the whole process amazingly easy,especially now you can attach your own digital picture.

I received multiple notifications on my phone, one for each major step in the process.
One of the text messages, after the first delivery attempt, I was given the opportunity to opt to have it delivered without a signature, however, my wife had already signed for it.
