They charged my card yesterday afternoon, exactly 3 weeks after they received the application. At this rate i'm assuming I should expect my passport around April 12, 2010.

Yey, some good news for you!

It does seem like it's five weeks from taking the money... I'm another one who might have to plead with the wonderful Dean in a couple of weeks. Five weeks from when my credit card was charged takes me past my flight dates .

had the kids sent back, but that was because they were smiling. Got them done again at walgreens and to me they looked a bit grainy and dark, but they were accepted

thanks lisa, sound like mine, im certainly not smiling but my face isnt quite as neutral as it could be, i was still trying to compose myself after seeing my first shot, it wasnt pretty, nothing like the harsh passport shot to show what another 10 years can do to a face.

I sent my passport renewal in by XpressPost on January 31; delivered February 16 (delay due to snow storm?). Credit card hasn't been charged yet.

With a flight on March 25, I've called Careline a couple times to see if I can get my passport back in time. The guy I spoke with last Thursday took my travel date and said he'd send a message to Washington, and to call back this week to get an update. So, I just called back this morning, and the person I spoke to today says that there was no note of a message being sent, and that they're not allowed to send emails until 5 days before the date of travel.

Is it true they can't send message more than 5 days in advance? 5 days before my travel date is a Saturday. I imagine that's a bit late for processing and mailing to western Canada. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

I sent Dean a PM last Thursday, too. I didn't hear anything back, though I'm not sure what to expect.

From Canada, I used Canada Post XpressPost. It's supposed to be 2 to 6 days delivery time, but ended up taking 16 days. I got a refund for the late delivery.

I'd say save the $20 and use don't use next day. The time saved pales in comparison so the length processing time, right now. The only thing I'd suggest you have is a way to track the shipment, so that you can know it's reached its destination.

I did UPS three business day service, which was $16 and only took two business days from CA.

Oh, and my envelope was signed for by "Guard," which I thought was a bit weird, but they obviously got it as eventually my cc was charged.
