Default Parisian. How's it pronounced?

Ok, I say its PA-risian but my wife thinks it's PE-risian. This argument started after watching Monster House tonight. Peris?

If you pronounce neutrally, the first vowel sound is the schwa.

If you emphasize, it will change.

Americans pronounce "Parisian" to rhyme with "cohesion" with three syllables. British pronunciation has four syllables, mirroring the vowel sounds of "obsidian".

I'm from the South of England and say Pa-ris-ian..
