Default Parcel from home - sadness

I got a parcel from home today which would normally have me doing happy dances round the house but this particular parcel seemed a bit light and when i opened it I discovered that the sweeties I was expecting had gone...

I'm wondering if customs confiscated them or some light-fingered so and so had them away. The rest of the parcel was intact - gifts for baby bubblechog

Get them to put Parma violets in there next time, that will teach them.

If customs officially search a package they put a big sticker on it saying so.

Must have been someone on its journey, maybe even back in England. Did the package look like someone had opened it?

If it was customs you would know about it there would be a sticker on the box. Sometimes they put a card in the box too

Maybe the sender forgot to pack them?
If it was inspected by customs they would reseal it with neon green tape, like this

No stickers or little card from customs - the package looks like its been re-taped up. So some theiving bugger has had off with my bon-bons. I'm making coconut ice today to try and make me feel better.

@lbjen - they wouldn't take the parma violets and then i'd be left with them here. I suppose I could use them as halloween candy instill some genuine horror into the proceedings...

On the other hand, labeling a box of homemade cookies "HOMEMADE COOKIES" in large letters with hearts and smilie faces and stars and other evidence of infatuation-related dementia didn't result in any damage or loss to the package in transit to my husband in the UK lol...

That's presumably because they saw all the hearts and smiley faces et al and figured the cookies were probably drugged in some way ...

Some good news to alleviate parcel sadness - another parcel arrived today fully intact including delicious Double deckers, Crunchies and Monster munch! As well as more stuff for the baby.I swear she's had more parcels in the last 6 months that I have the whole time I've been here. She's a baby she doesn't even care the sweet little outfit she's dribbling on is from England
