Default P85 - how long?

Has anyone filed a P85 recently? Just wondered when I might be getting my tax back, sent it in 2 months ago now...

10 years ago. I managed to not expect to hear anything, ever from the taxman, but a checkque turned up eventually, maybe 2 months maybe 6, can't recall, but a nice surprise either way.

Thanks Rich, guess I'm just getting impatient because I know it's going to be enough to fund my chocolate addiction for a while...

They might be waiting for the 2014-2015 tax year to close before processing it. I have seen reports here of people filing their P85 early on in a UK tax year and having it returned and being asked to re-file after the close of the tax year.

I just got off the phone to them. Apparently if your P85 arrived today it would be complete by March 31st. I took this with an enormous pinch of salt

Hmmm, interesting. So 6 weeks? I've been waiting 8 already

Oh well, nowt I can do but wait. I can understand the end of the tax year thing if I filed self-assessment tax returns but I'm just a normal PAYE taxpayer. Ho hum.

I filed mine in July 2014 and hmrc deposited the money in my bank about 4-5 weeks later. I then received a letter stating they had done so, along with their calculations etc.
