P-60s

hey all,
My UKC husband has been having some trouble getting his P-60s. While we have received other mail from the Pension Fund, the p-60s never came. Finally, he accepted a letter from them detailing the amounts received and tax paid, but it's really not the same.

This year, the same thing has happened. The error has been discovered (different database, addy never got updated until just now). The story we get is: P-60s can only be generated *once* and there is no replacement available. They did send out this year's (to a mysterious old address) and tell us "too bad, so sad".

Can anyone back this up? It does not seem realistic that a replacement can not be generated. Or, does anyone have an idea of where/how to get something like a US tax transcript (ordered directly from US IRS)? Appreciate your input.

It used to be the case that the employee's P60 could not be replaced if lost, although this normally would not cause a major problem as the information contained on the P60 would have been sent to the Inland Revenue (P14).

However, the Inland Revenue changed this policy in April/May 2003, and a duplicate P60 can now be issued so long as it is clearly marked 'Duplicate'.

The only issue that might be 'too bad' or 'sad' is that they are obviously not keeping themselves up to date with current procedures. ;)

Julie, thank you so much! Guess what reply just came in the email? "An official duplicate is on its way..."

Now just trying to get the DAH convinced that it's OK to ask for the previous missing years' duplicates....

Thanks again for the heads-up.
