Thanks for the kind words mwm.
In response to what was said during your conference call, thats disgusting. I would have pounced on the opportunity to address to them to the fact Guiness is Irish, that they are typically ignorant, and that perhaps they should act in a more professional manner deserving of the company. I wouldnt get upset though, just sarcastically put them in their place Give them a ribbing back, and they'll stop.

I can't help but wonder where this kind of disrespect falls among other frowned upon activities such as Sexual harrassment etc....!

I was under the impression that the USA was much stricter regarding workplace harrasment.... I recall a case where my Sister worked at an office about 10 years ago where a woman was wearing a mickey mouse t-shirt and one of her co-workers walked past her in the hall and commented 'Like the T-shirt.... particularly the ears!' He was suspended and she took him to court and sued him! I couldn't believe it at the time because my boss made Sid James look like the Pope and I thought wow, what would they do to him in the US.

Maybe it just depends where in the US you are.

The law remains the same wherever you are, in the US. Of course, she could sue. But the question is, would you? It might be worth thinking about if she lost her job as a result of this crap Lawsuits can be expensive and long drawn out. But it's worth thinking about, depending on the circumstances....
