OT: Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure

Sorry - this has nothing to do with anything expat... except we're expats...

Does anyone have any experience of Universal parks? We were only planning on going to one and can't work out which one is best - smallest kid is just about 48" and so it looks like Studios is better for rides - esp. as Potter not open til June...

Appreciate any opinions...

Cheers,

Doug.

Universal Studios is more stunt shows movie themed rides etc IOA is more a coaster park like Six Flags. It depends on what you prefer, I am not a huge coaster fan so I would universal Studios over IOA.

I'd agree. We go to Florida every year, and without a doubt, I prefer Universal Studios because I don't do the roller coaster thing either. Plenty for younger kids to do in Universal ie Simpsons, ET etc so I would go there, but that's a personal choice.

They're right next to each other. You can get a dual-pass for not much extra if that's an option.

IMO Universal is as boring as shit. Most of the "rides" are outdated or for young kids; also the queues are huge during peak season so you'll need a 'FastPass' to get on anything in less than an hour.
