After waiting nine months for the infamous green card to arrive in the mail, patience has worn very thin and since we have had no response from the official inquiry to Vermont on Form G-731V mailed on February 15th as to its whereabouts and/or status, yesterday we dispatched a letter to our Congresswoman. Her staff was helpful in '98 in getting Jim's long guns accepted by the authorities and it is hoped that they can do what we have been unable to do.

Our hope is to at least to be able to go to NYC INS with assurance that the I-551 stamp will be renewed without having to wait for an appointment to do so and that we will not have to pay the replacement fee for a lost green card.

The U.S. Army is suppose to be processing Jim's citizenship but as with all governmental agencies, seeing is believing.

After Jim gets the green card the fight will social security for removal of the conditions can begin. We've let it slide because of their attitude and what their computers say about Jim only being authorized to work in a religious capacity. This is crap but that is how SS said his file reads that he is I-R1 approved. At least we have the letter from NYC INS thanks to Matt which confirms that he is a conditional permanent resident.
