We have just got our B2 visa, and are very excited, we are planning to go to Orlando for 5 months and are entering through Vancouver and driving down and across America for a month or so before arriving at our house in Clermont, where we plan to stay for approx 5 months, we are going to need a car for the 6 months. Does anyone have any advice on what we can do?

I was thinking of doing this and selling before I leave, but is it as easy as the Uk, good second hand car, can we get US Insurance and drive as long as this on our UK licences?

Well renting a car one-way from Canada into the US is going to be costly because the rental company will have to repatriate the car - it can't be rented in the US.

Are you planning to come more than once? Perhaps buying and storing would be economical. I have a spare car that does not cost too much in tax/insurance to be virtually unused. It is an old banger though.

I stayed in a "villa" in "Clermont" earlier this year. Clermont proper was about 20 miles from us, and we were just 20 mins from Disney. I suppose you know this having a house there. Very nice house it was. I am envious
