I only ever make roasties when I'm cooking Xmas dinner

and you can nuke the potatoes first ...takes less oven time that way

the problem with pataks is the FDA, keep changing their mind and stuff gets banned for a bit here and there, bit like the pickles at the moment...

I think it's the lime pickles that are banned at the moment, though they did have the pataks line on the ban for a couple weeks a bit back.

[QUOTE=Thackattack] Obviously coming from the uk, there is no need to make curry at home, a simple phone call to my local takeaway would take of all those problemsQUOTE]

There's only one Indian Restaurant within an hour of where we live, never been there though. For all I've heard about it, I'm dying to try it. Friend of mines taking me out for curry when we're in the UK next week. Any recommendations on what dish to try?.... nothing that'll blister the inside of my mouth though, please.

Well you can give the vindaloo a miss! I discovered fish masala before I came here, gorgeous, bhunas are usually good and if you want a try of a few things a Thali gives you about 5 mini dishes with chutney, rice etc. I hate korma cos its too sweet and mild but curry virgins usually start on that, Oh now I am hungry

We have Lime Pickle in our local Indian Store, about 5 varieties of it.

I think Bombay Duck is still banned though. Such a pity.
