These huts are about 1/2 mile from where I used to live, and they're no bigger than your average garden shed. Those wacky Brits!!

People love the beach, not just in England. I live about an hour away from the Oregon coast and it's absolutley breathtaking out there. I'd give an arm and a leg to live there...which is what it costs to buy one of the houses.

I don't see what the big deal is. People queue up for days for concert tickets for bands that sound like crap. These two people were queuing up for the opportunity to rent a beach spot for the rest of their lives. I don't understand why it even made the national news.

I thought the same thing when I first read it too. It seemed a lot more sensible than the people who would wait in line for several weeks to see the latest Star Wars film. It's actually quite a nice spot, with great views of the Isle of Wight, and on a clear day Swanage. They're still bloody expensive though, but if you have the money, why not?
